Ouidad Tebbaa

Ouidad Tebbaa is a professor at the University of Cadi Ayyad in Marrakech since 1987. She manages several research projects and coordinates Master and PhD programmes in areas related to tourism, cultural heritage and sustainable development.

As a member of the UNESCO charter on landscape and environment, she published numerous articles on the subject and is actively involved in the protection of the material and immaterial cultural heritage in Morocco. For several years she was also the general secretary of the association which worked for the recognition of Jemaa El Fna square in Marrakech as Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Together with a group of experts, she also received the Carlo Scarpa award for her work concerning the Agdal Garden in Marrakech.
