Samir Meddeb

Samir Meddeb has a naturalist formation and is doctor from the Faculty of Orsay Paris XI since June 1986. He is the founder and former director of the Tunisian Observatory for Environment and Sustainable Development (OTEDD) and has great knowledge of the environmental institution in Tunisia, of the major national and regional environmental problems and of the sustainable development challenges in Tunisia.

Samir Meddeb was responsible of the Tunisian administration where he managed environmental project, coordinated works of the technical commission and of the national commission for sustainable development between 1992 and 2002. He was also director of the environment department in an international study desk between 2002 and 2005. Samir Meddeb is now university professor and independent expert since 2005. He has large experience in evaluations and identification of environmental politics and programmes. He worked with several international institutions such as the World Bank, the European Commission, the GTZ, UNPD and the DWS.
