Moussa El Fadili

Moussa El Fadili is an agronomist engineer principal in chief. He graduated from the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Scieces in Rabat, Morocco (1984) and from the National Agronomic Institute in Paris, France (1982). He also holds a PhD from the University of Liege in Belgium (2001).

He began his professional career in the field of agricultural development (1985-1991). Firstly, at the Provincial Direction of Agriculture of Boulmane where he was responsible for the office of animal production and pastoralism. He the joined the Office of Agricultural Development of Tafilatet where he was responsible for the development a sheep breeding programme (engaging livestock cooperatives, farmers and the UNFPA programme benefiting women in rural areas of the province).

In 1991, he joined the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) as an animal production researcher and conducted numerous projects, including: characterization and optimization of animal genetic resources in pure breeds and crosses, characterization of farming systems and animal production, and the monitoring of the quality of animal products and the transfer of research results. His research allowed, among other things, for the creation of a new breed of sheep “INRA180”. Since 2008, he has headed the Department of Animal Production in the Science Division of INRA where he is responsible for the planning, orientation, monitoring and evaluation of research. He is an expert and member in many committees related to the livestock sector. In 2009, he was awarded the 2nd prize of Scientific Innovation in the Agricultural field by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).
