Professor Aziz Tijani was born 1965 in Ain Legdah, Taounate, Morocco. He received his Diploma as Zootechnician Engineer in 1990 from the Agronomic and Veterinary Institute Hassan II in Rabat, Morocco. He started his doctorate studies in Belgium, where he received his Diploma of State Doctorate in agronomic sciences and biological engineering in 1999 from the University of Agronomic Sciences of Gembloux.

He started his professional career in 1991 as a researcher at the Rabat National Institute for Agronomic Research. In 1992, he joined the National School of Agriculture, where he has been working ever since as a Teacher-Researcher in the Department of Animal Production, specialising in animal improvement and genetics. More specifically his research focuses on the development of sheep and dairy cattle genetic evaluation systems and industrial crossbreeding. He conducted several research projects on evaluating dairy performance and reproduction of pure bovine races, and the performance characterization of sheep breeds used for crossbreeding in Morocco. He is strongly involved with Moroccan professional organizations for artificial insemination and dairy control where he provides training, on-field guidance and supervision of executives, technicians and breeders.
